For 50 years, Cambridge Consultants has led the way in innovative product development.  They are the development partner of choice to many of the world’s leading blue chips as well as the virtual development team for ambitious start up companies. Cambridge Consultants are providing Computer Fluid Dynamics support and engineering consultancy services to our project as a fully integrated member of our development team.

Cambridge University

The Cambridge University Engineering Department’s Fluids Lab are working on the testing and optimisation of the ducting system and rotor.

The Fluid Labs has extensive experience in the design and performance analysis of turbine devices. They have a specialisation in turbulence and boundary layer flow and its study using Tomographic Partical Image Velocimetry techniques. The rig we are using was developed to analyse turbulence effects for the Ferrari Formula 1 team and Quite Revolutions vertical wind turbine, this rig has been adapted to G-TT’s requirements.

Dr Holgar Babinsky is the supervisor, Holger is a leading expert in vortex research. The University has employed Tom Clark to work full time on the project. Tom is currently studying for his PhD in Turbulance and Skin-friction drag on rough-wall boundary layer flow. He has a MEng from Cambridge University and an BA Hons degree in General Engineering from Cambridge. He has worked at QinetiQ’s Centre for Marine Technology as a Propulsion Engineer and is currently a QinetiQ Trusted Expert.

Ollie Price, Consultant Marine Engineer

Ollie Price is an Engineer with extensive experience in the design of marine structures and management of their build. He also has design and engineering experience in aerospace and train design and experience in design of experimental test rigs. He has worked with the G-TT team on other assignments and is highly regarded for his ability to deliver results.

Tom Clark CTO

Tom Clark has recently joined the team as full time Chief Technology Officer having been the research Associate in the Engineering Department of the University of Cambridge working on our project.  Tom has been responsible for delivering the technology development programme currently running through Cambridge University where he is studying for his PhD. Tom has also operated as a consultant to QinetiQ where he worked as a Propulsion Engineer on their Marine Technology Centre and is currently a QinetiQ Trusted Expert.

Tom has shown himself to be a considerable asset to the development team, he brings deep technical knowledge, project management and team leadership skills.

Michael J Evans, CEO
